Merry Christmas

Linking up with Skywatch Friday  and Good Fences

Wishing all my blogging friends that celebrate a very Merry Christmas!!
May your home be filled with the joy of the Christmas season. I wish you a blessed Christmas and a happy New Year.

Sorry, I keep using my Christmas ball Cardinal.  He is cute though!

I hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas Day. I had this post ready to go for Tex's Good Fences and for my Skywatch Friday post.. Some archived shots taken from our ride to my son's house and to my sister's place.. We take the back roads to Pennsylvania and enjoy the farmland and animals along the way..My sister will be having Christmas dinner at her place..lots of yummy food and baby Neill will be there..  Yea!

I just love these cute donkeys.. The are adorable, I want to stop and look at them every time I go by.

Some Longhorn cattle and a fence scene of course, lol!

Taking the back road to Pennsylvania we pass this farm with the Longhorn cattle. They are huge..

Another shot of the donkeys and fence... IF I had a farm I would want some of these donkeys..and alpacas and some chickens..maybe a horse or two..I need to win the lottery...

For my Skywatch Friday I have a sunrise seen from my deck looking into the woods next to my house.. The colors were amazing, as if the woods were on fire..

This shot above was the sunset seen from my deck..

This moon shot was taken from my backyard on December 7..I do not think I posted this shot yet.. Thanks for stopping by and for the nice comments..

Snow Geese

Linking up with Wild Bird Wednesday and Nature Notes

Wishing all my blogging friends that celebrate a very Merry Christmas!!

For this week's wild bird I am sharing the Snow Geese. They seem to be plentiful lately. I have seen them in the Outer Banks, NC and in Smyrna Delaware..and at Chincoteague NWR

The shot above shows the rusty stain  on the Snow Goose face. The rusty stain can come from feeding and sticking their faces down in the muddy grasses.

The Snow Geese is white with black wing tips..

This shot taken in Smyrna, Delaware landing on a field.. not from from Bombay Hook NWR.

The Snow Goose has two color plumage morphs.. the white and the blue..The Blue goose has a white head, neck and tail tip and bluish-grey plumage.

Above is a video of the Snow Geese during the sunset at Chincoteague NWR, I love listening to these geese..The video is long but the best part is at the end..
Till next week's wild bird post.. I wish you happy Birding and have a wonderful week!

Merry Christmas & happy Holidays

I am linking up with   Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday

The holidays are falling close together this year, I wish all my blogging friends a happy Chanukah, a very Merry Christmas and Happy Kwanzaa and whatever holidays they celebrate.

A holiday post with some archived photos of the Cardinals, their bright red colors seem to fit perfectly with my Christmas tree and color theme..

Our Christmas tree, we have a smaller pre-lit tree..which seems a perfect size for hubby and I..

This shot of the male Cardinal on the feeder, reminds me a Christmas decoration..

Theresa reminded me of this puffy Christmas Cardinal.  Thanks to Picmonkey for all the neat things you can do to a photo.  Merry Christmas everyone!

Thanks for stopping by and for all the nice comments.. I hope you enjoyed my post and photos..

Saturday's Critters #53

Saturday's Critters #53

I wish everyone a happy Chanukah, a very Merry Christmas and Kwanzaa and a happy New Year...

Ok, it's time to share your critters.. Any kind of critter will do.. I appreciate everyone who has linked up in the past and for those who are linking in on this week's critter party. And of course I always appreciate my blogging friends stopping by just for a visit..Also, I hope you can check out the post at Annis's I'd-Rather-B-Birdin.  You should also check out Misty Dawn's Camera Critters.

I am sharing some more birds from  Chincoteague and the wild ponies..

At first I thought the bird above was a Green Heron and posted the photo on my facebook page.. But a fellow bird club member told me it is actually the American Bittern..

I read in my birding field guide that the juvenile Black-crowned Night heron has yellow on its beak. So, I am going by that to id the bird above.. The juvenile Yellow-crowned Night Heron looks very similar.

While we were on the beach parking lot, these two wild ponies walked by..they were the same two horses I have on my sunrise photos on the previous post..

A few of the Chincoteague ponies were out in the field.. I think hubby and I counted around 16 horses all together but spread out around the field..

There were birds all over in the shot above.  How many do you see?  I see the DC Cormorants, a Great Blue Heron and Mallard Ducks.

Above more of the Chincoteague wild ponies.. I hope you enjoyed my critter post.. I am looking forward to seeing your critters..

Thanks to Tex Theresa aka Tex, I was able to add this link up button and thanks to  Jennifer for creating my photo badge.
